Privacy Policy

“Your information is as safe with me as your grandmother’s secret recipes.
I don’t sell it, share it, or use it for anything except helping you get beautiful cabinets.”
– Steve
1. My Promise to You
Welcome to Kitchens By Remote. I’m Steve Eisenmenger, and I’ve been in the kitchen business for 30 years. In all that time, I’ve never sold a customer’s information, and I’m not starting now. This privacy policy explains exactly what information I collect, why I need it, and how I protect it. No legal mumbo-jumbo, just straight talk.
2. What Information I Collect
When You Contact Me or Fill Out a Form:
- Your name (so I know what to call you)
- Email address (to send you quotes and answer questions)
- Phone number and/or text/SMS number (if you want me to call or text you back — I’ll only text you if you’ve given consent on the form)
- Kitchen measurements and photos (to design your space)
- Design preferences and project details (so I recommend the right cabinets)
- Shipping address (to calculate delivery costs)
- Billing address (for orders)
Automatically Collected (The Technical Stuff):
- Your IP address (like a digital return address)
- What browser you use (so the site works properly)
- Which pages you visit (to improve the site)
- How you found me (Google, referral, etc.)
- Basic site analytics through Matomo (a privacy-focused analytics tool that keeps your data on my server — not Google’s)
What I DON’T Collect:
- Social media profiles
- Tracking pixels from Meta/Facebook
- Your browsing history on other sites
- Third-party advertising data
3. How I Use Your Information
I only use your information to help you get the kitchen you want:
- Process your orders: Can’t ship cabinets without an address
- Answer your questions: When you email, I need to reply
- Send quotes and proposals: You asked for them, I send them
- Design consultations: Your measurements and photos help me plan your kitchen
- Order updates: You should know when your cabinets ship
- Text/SMS updates: Only if you’ve checked the box giving me permission — you can opt out anytime by replying STOP or letting me know
- Occasional email updates: Only if you explicitly opt-in (and you can opt-out anytime)
4. Who I Share Your Information With
I share your information only when absolutely necessary to serve you:
Cabinet Manufacturers & Suppliers: Companies like DL Cabinetry, ROC Cabinetry, AVA Cabinetry, SOLLiD, ENVii, and other cabinet suppliers I work with need your address to fulfill and ship your order. They receive only what’s necessary for delivery.
Shipping Companies: UPS and LTL freight carriers (such as R&L Carriers) need your address to deliver. That’s it.
Payment Processing: I use secure, PCI-compliant payment processors to handle transactions. I never see or store your full card or payment details — that’s handled entirely by the processor.
Legal Requirements: If a court orders it, I have to comply. (This has never happened in 30 years.)
Who I NEVER Share With:
- Marketing companies
- Data brokers
- Social media platforms
- Anyone who wants to sell you something
The Bottom Line on Data Sharing
I DO NOT and WILL NOT sell your personal information. Period. Your trust is worth more than any amount of money someone could offer me for your data.
5. Tools I Use on This Website
My website runs on WordPress with a handful of tools that help me serve you better. Here’s exactly what they are and what they do with your data:
- WooCommerce: Powers the shopping cart and checkout. Stores your order history, cart contents, and billing/shipping info so I can process your orders.
- FluentCRM: Helps me keep track of customer communications and project details so I don’t lose your emails or forget where your job stands.
- Fluent Forms: Processes every form on this site — contact, new client intake, budget calculator, and proposals. Your submission comes straight to me and is stored securely so I can follow up.
- FluentBooking: Handles consultation scheduling. Collects your name, email, and phone/text number to book our call.
- Matomo Analytics: Privacy-focused analytics that runs on my own server. Tracks basic site usage (pages visited, referral source) without sending your data to Google or anyone else.
- Google for WooCommerce & Pinterest for WooCommerce: Lets my product catalog appear in Google Shopping and Pinterest results. Only product information is shared — never your personal or order data.
- Wordfence: Security software that protects the site from attacks and spam. It may log IP addresses briefly for security purposes only.
- Complianz: Manages the cookie consent banner you see when you first visit, so your cookie preferences are recorded and respected.
- LiteSpeed Cache: Speeds up the website. May set performance cookies to make pages load faster.
- Yoast SEO: Helps search engines find my site. Doesn’t collect your personal data.
- UpdraftPlus: Creates secure backups of the website so your order and account information isn’t lost in the event of a technical problem.
Each of these tools processes data only as needed to serve you. None of them sell your information.
6. Your Privacy Rights
You have complete control over your information:
You Can Always:
- See what I have: Email me, I’ll send everything
- Fix mistakes: Wrong address? Let me know
- Delete everything: Want me to forget you? Done
- Stop emails or texts: Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of texts anytime
- Get a copy: Want your data? I’ll send it
- Ask questions: Not clear on something? Reach out
For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA):
You have extra rights under California law. I respect them all. Email me with “California Privacy Rights” in the subject.
For Canadian Residents (PIPEDA):
Canadian privacy laws apply to you. I comply fully. You can also contact the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
For EU/UK Residents (GDPR):
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, or port your personal data. You also have the right to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time. Email me with “GDPR Request” in the subject line and I’ll respond within 30 days.
For Everyone Else:
I treat everyone’s data with the same respect, regardless of where you live.
7. How Long I Keep Your Information
I’m not a data hoarder:
- Active customers: I keep your info while we’re working together
- Order records: 7 years (tax law requires this)
- Email subscribers: Until you unsubscribe
- Inquiries that don’t buy: Deleted after 1 year
- Payment info: I don’t store it — my payment processors handle this
8. How I Protect Your Information
I take security seriously:
- SSL encryption: Your data is scrambled in transit
- Secure servers: Professional hosting with security measures
- Firewall protection: Active monitoring against attacks and malicious traffic
- Limited access: Only I see your information
- Strong passwords: No “password123” here
- Regular updates: Security patches applied promptly
- Regular backups: Your account and order information is backed up securely
That said, no system is 100% perfect. I do my best, but I can’t guarantee absolute security (nobody can, despite what they claim).
9. Cookies (The Digital Kind)
My website uses cookies to function properly:
- Essential cookies: Make the shopping cart and login work (WooCommerce, WordPress)
- Performance cookies: Help pages load faster (LiteSpeed Cache)
- Analytics cookies: Matomo uses a cookie to understand how visitors use the site — this data stays on my server, not a third party’s
- Booking and form cookies: FluentBooking and Fluent Forms may set a cookie to remember your session while you’re filling something out
- Consent cookies: Complianz remembers your cookie preferences so you’re not asked every visit
What I don’t use:
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No social media tracking cookies
- No Facebook pixel — Facebook doesn’t need to know you’re shopping for cabinets
You can disable cookies in your browser, but the shopping cart and some features might not work properly.
10. Children’s Privacy
Kitchen cabinets aren’t for kids. My website is for adults (18+) only. If I accidentally collect information from someone under 18, let me know and I’ll delete it immediately.
11. Payment Processing
I use secure, PCI-compliant payment processors to handle transactions on this site because:
- Your full payment details never touch my servers
- Transactions are encrypted and processed securely
- I offer multiple payment options so you can choose what works for you
Each payment processor I use has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your payment information.
12. Do Not Track
I respect “Do Not Track” browser signals. My analytics tool (Matomo) can be configured to honor DNT requests, and I don’t engage in cross-site tracking.
13. Third-Party Links
Sometimes I link to manufacturer sites or shipping companies. Once you leave my site, their privacy policies apply. I choose my suppliers carefully, but I can’t control what they do on their own websites.
14. Changes to This Policy
If I change this policy, I’ll post the updates here and email active customers. I won’t make sneaky changes — any updates will be clearly marked with a new “Last Updated” date at the top.

16. The Human Touch
Look, I’m just a guy who’s been designing kitchens for 30 years. I’m not Facebook, Google, or some mega-corporation harvesting data. When you give me your information, it goes into my business system, I use it to help you get beautiful cabinets at fair prices, and that’s it. No algorithms, no data mining, no creepy tracking.
Your privacy matters to me because MY privacy matters to me. I wouldn’t want someone selling my information, so I don’t sell yours. It’s that simple.
